Upon this stone it is written: The rules of this forum must be obeyed, or one will suffer the consequences akin to being
a) warned so that everyone can see
b) banned for some number of days, or
c) banned completely and tossed out into the cold, lonely world.
So, here it goes.
Joining:
After creating an account and activating it using an email address, you are invited to go into the Entrance thread. There is a topic there that has the form to fill out when creating your profile. Complete it as well as you can. Once that is done a staffy will accept it based on whether you followed the form and rules. If there is a problem, a staffy will reply to your topic or PM you. Please do not be offended if a staffy asks you to change or elaborate on something; it's for the good of us all. Also, please put somewhere in your post how you'd like to be addressed if it's your first charrie. No obnoxious usernames with a lot of colons or dash marks. Just a simple name please.
OOC:
'Ooc' stands for out of character. Any post you make where you are not talking as your character is 'ooc'. All I ask is that you are respectful and polite. Life is not meant to be spent insulting people on the internet. Swear words are allowed as long as they are disguised with an asterisk(*) or a period. Absolutely no sex talk. I don't want Kodia to be deleted by Proboards admin.
IC:[/u]
'Ic' means in character. As a wolf on this board, you are in character. All the normal rules apply, including no powerplaying, which is when you control the actions or thoughts of someone else's wolf. No godmoding, which is a charrie that cannot be defeated. No one is infallable. Charries are allowed to be in multiple threads at once as long as you can keep everything in order. Just because you as a human found out something doesn't mean your charrie did. There is also a minimum of 5 lines in your post, to keep threads moving. If you are discovered with one-liners then you will be warned and finally banned, because you should have read the Stone Tablet.
Characters:[/u]
As a Loner, the rank you are assigned when you first join, you are allowed two wolves. Each rank you jump to equals another charrie earned; also, you may spend your posting points on another charrie, among other stuff. Wolves may be any combination of hybrids as long as they are paid for with points. No other species are allowed. You must put the names of every charrie you control in your signature. Info and the like is optional there, as well as graphics like pics or pretty sig designs.
Fighting:[/u]
Fights usually consist of two wolves who have a serious dislike of one another and their differences are settled physically. Male wolves may challenge an alpha or a mateless alphess for leadership of his or her pack. Females must mate with the alpha and hope for him to die to be a single alphess. Both genders may fight the other, and males are not necessarily destined to win. Femmes may kick a male's as.s if the posts are good enough. Fights are to be judged by an impartial staffy and can go on until one of the participants calls in the judge. Staffies decide who wins by the quality of the participants' posts; if one is godmoding or powerplaying, or dodged every attack and landed every offensive, that person won't win. No one can kill their opponent without the owner's firm consent.
Challenging:
Wolves may challenge alphas or single alphesses to gain leadership of that pack. Your challenging post will contain a title plus the word challenge, and the post will have the wolf approach the terra and howl for the alpha/alphess. If your post is not responded to in exactly three days, the challenge is won and the pack is reset. Wolves who were part of the pack under the old alpha/alphess must express interest to be led by the new wolf in the same thread to stay in the pack. It can be done 'ooc'. For fighting rules, see above.
Mating/Birthing:[/u]
Use your own discretion for graphic mating scenes. The owners of the participating male and female will agree to the pregnancy over PM, will choose how many pups and what genders and colors. After a week has passed (or longer, if you wish), the femme will give birth in as 'PG' a rating as she can. If more pups are born than both the mother and father want to RP, the remaining pups may be put up for adoption. The pups will lay dormant for anther week, then they may emerge as spry young puppies ready to greet the world. A month after their birth they can be considered yearlings and able to leave their parents.
Aging:[/u]
I know how much you love your charries, so aging may go as fast or as slow as you want it to. They have to die eventually, but only you, the owner, may decide when or where.[/center]
